El Cantar de los Cantares: lecturas y comentarios sobre el más bello poema de amor, desde rabi Akiba a Franz Rosenzweig

En esta presentación se recorrerán algunos momentos de la interpretación que diversos rabinos y pensadores judíos le dieron al Cantar de los Cantares. Este texto bíblico ha fascinado en cada generación a numerosos lectores, generando preguntas y una amplia gama de comentarios. En este breve recorrido analizaremos temas como la naturaleza del amor humano; el encuentro y desencuentro entre los que se aman; el amor como metáfora central de la relación de Dios con el ser humano y el Pueblo de Israel.


The Song of Songs: Readings and Commentaries to the Most Beautiful Love Poem, from Rabbi Akiva to Franz Rosenzweig

In this session we will explore some of the commentaries and reflections that Jewish thinkers and rabbis had about Shir Hashirim – the Song of Songs. We will deal with topics such as the elusive nature of human love; harmony and discord between those who love; and love as a central metaphor of Gods´s relationship with mankind and Jewish People.

Daniel FainsteinDr. Daniel Fainstein is Dean and Professor of Jewish Studies and Education at the Hebraica University in Mexico City. He was educated in Buenos Aires, Jerusalem, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico where he received his PhD. He served as Dean of the Seminario Rabínico Latino Americano M.T. Meyer, was the Executive Director of the Board of Jewish Education of Argentina, and is currently a visiting professor and lecturer in many institutions in Latin America, Europe, the United States, and Israel.
