Jewish genealogists say that after surnames, the second most important piece of information for doing Jewish genealogical research are the names of the towns from where your family came. Do you know the names of the towns in your family history? What did you hear about them? Have you ever traveled to them?

For many years it was thought that Jews could not trace their family trees – that names were changed and records destroyed. Arthur Kurzweil, known as America’s foremost Jewish genealogist, will explain why and how to successfully climb your family tree.

Arthur Kurzweil is a writer, publisher, teacher and magician. He is the author of several books including On the Road with Rabbi Steinsaltz and From Generation to Generation: How to Trace your Jewish Family History. Arthur received a lifetime achievement award from the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies for his groundbreaking work in the field. His textbook, My Generations: A Course in Jewish Family History, has been used in synagogue schools for almost 35 years.
